I painted a new version of the cushion in oils yesterday evening. Oils are better at representing soft edges than acrylic in my experience. The drawing isn't quite right, the shape a bit distorted.

I had done an acrylic underpainting to get the tones and shape.

For the oil painiting I used Ceruleum blue, crimson and yellow to mix a soft grey and lots of white with spectraflow to thin and speed up drying time.

Really enjoyed painting in oils I usually use acrylic for convenience but for the actual experience and enjoyment of painting oils are great. Must do more.
